My fossil pots are handmade by pressing small, shaped pieces of clay into a half-ball mould. Designs are built up using various tools to extrude pattern and decoration elements.

I create Fossil pots in several sizes, using a range of clays and finishes. Works are fired to stoneware (1280°C) or earthenware (1060°C) temperatures, depending on the type of clay in use. Various types of kilns and firing atmospheres are utilised to enhance the decorative finish on the pieces.

Imagination and many hours go into the creation of each unique piece. While they are very time consuming to make, there is a certain 'something' about the process and the finished work that keeps drawing me back to them again and again.
